Chocolate & Why I love it so
Gone are the days that I believed if you love the gym you can’t enjoy anything luxurious. Since I have embraced my love of exercise I have also embraced truly enjoy really great products. My love of chocolate isn’t guilt-ridden or secret. Its brave, bold and brilliant.
These are a few of my favs from the big brands to one woman independents.
Sugarsnap is an Artisan Chocolate and Confectionery Company started by Annette, a chocolatier with a good palate for flavour and quality. I first came across Annettes amazing chocolate when we were both selling our wares at a local art market in Glasgow. I was about 2 weeks into my wedding diet and was looking for something really special to enjoy on my ‘not so strict days’ … I couldn’t have found anything more perfect. This is what Annette says about her chocs…
All products are handcrafted using high-quality ingredients with no added unnecessary sugar. We like to champion local products to infuse in our ganaches and confectionery as well as using products that honour Annette’s Welsh roots or just products that we just love.
One thing that instantly drew me to Annette’s chocolates is how beautiful they are. They really do feel like you are stood with a miny solar system in your hands. Nearly too beautiful to eat but too delicious to keep. Enjoy her amazing creations not only at Easter and Christmas but all year long!

Pump Street Chocolate
Gifted to me by the biggest pumper around … Amy May, this chocolate came at a time when I needed a giggle. Although it is only the name that makes you chuckle as whats inside is a no-nonesnse delicious bar of milk chocolate. Having mastered the art of bread and pastries, Pump Street Bakery have turned their focus to chocolate. Along with only a few other UK producers, they are making small batch, handmade chocolate from beans imported directly to them from family farms and cooperatives around the world.

The benefit of being a chocolate and fitness blogger is being sent lots of beautiful branded products such as this lovely bar from @pumpstreetchocolate by my gorgeous sister & brand creator @amydotmae … This bar is a creamy, luxurious whole milk bar and the air tight seal on the package means it’s perfect to snap off a few cubes and save the rest for little treats. I doubt this one will last the full week however 🙊❤️🙊 . . #chocolate #chocolove #lifestyleblogger #chocolatier #foodie #foodiegram
Amy knew I wasn’t very well when I received this gorgeous bar and where I would normally munch my way through a whole bar, I really appreciated the hefty resealable pouch that it arrives in. An absolute must as the perfect little present for someone feeling very delicate.

I love a family business and a feminist empowered one at that! Founded in 2011 by Mother/Daughter partnership, Andrea Huntington and Lucy Elliott, Creighton’s Chocolaterie promises irresistible flavours and covetable packaging that is designed, handcrafted and wrapped by an all-girl team their our Leighton Buzzard kitchen.
When I received the Mexican Fiesta Chocolate Bar emblazoned with my idol Frida Kahlo I was totally blown away. It was sent it by my good friend Rachel from The Yesterday Society (an amazing vintage shop in Newcastle Upon Tyne) and it couldn’t have been a more perfect surprise.
Firstly I was struck by how lovely the illustrations are on the outside especially being an illustrator myself (my website) and then secondly even the texture of the lovely wax paper it is printed on felt super special. I hardly wanted to open it. But the promise of exciting flavours of cactus, cayenne & marigold in a milk chocolate bar was too tempting. In fact, the flavours are very subtle, so don’t be put off if your less adventurous with your chocolate. Too me it mostly tastes of beautiful milk chocolate. My day certainly needed brightening when I received this bar and it did its job of making me feel like the fiery feminist I am!
These are just a few of my current favs but check back regularly to see what I’m lucky enough to be devouring … in the meantime why not stop by my blog post about how to ditch the motivation Monday blues. Especially if your Monday has been more cocoa than gym xxx
