Gym Wear & Why I love it so
So one of the amazing things about being into fitness is getting to wear gym wear every day! I literally would consider becoming a personal trainer just to have a legitimate excuse to wear lycra to work. Gymwear to me is an exciting expression of how I feel inside. I feel braver, bolder and more like a warrior clad in armour than in any other part of my life. Here a few of my current favourites from very very affordable to OMG if only I could afford that…
Primark ( Don’t judge me!)
I hate to promote it but Primark always comes out top for me when I want cheap, fun, bright gym wear. From sports bras priced at £3.50 to whole sets that cost less than £15 it really is a winner if you’re getting back into fitness and just want to grab something quick and easy. Or if you’re like me and go through lots of gym wear every week and don’t want to have to pull a sweaty set back out of the washing basket. Another reason I have become a Primark shopper once again is definitely due to their recent collaborations with Instagram superstar Alice Living.
I have followed Alice for years and love her fun, easy-going attitude to fitness. Primark has shown they have their finger on the pulse when it comes knowing whos popular in the fitness industry and this particular collaboration pulled me back into their shops after years of turning my nose up at their huge neon stores.
My recent trip to Primark … Im a sucker for coral gym wear!
I first came across DBP Active on Instagram. They have absolutely beautiful fabrics that make stunning activewear sets. I was hook line and sinker, then I read their mission statement and fell in love a little bit more.

Dot Dash Activewear
There are gym sets you dream about and one in particular that I dream about on a regular basis is Dot Dash Activewear’s Japanese Crane set. Founder Nicole Clewer has created a brand that is truly beautiful. The brand seems to put functional first, create high-quality products, that are both comfortable yet stylish for today’s multi-tasking women.
“Looking around, Nicole realised that women today often do the school run, head into the office, hit yoga AND find time to meet the girls for a coffee all in one day. With this in mind she wanted to create a brand that incorporates all of these needs and still looks and feels amazing, which is why she started Dot Dash Activewear, combining functionality, comfort and style for today’s modern women.”
This is a British brand that is hitting the highest class of establishment and been wore by the glitterati of healthy living. I’m not saying we should run out and spend £70 on a pair of leggings but if I was going to it would most definitely be these ones.
There really is gym wear for everyone and every budget. These are just a few of my current favs but check back regularly to see what I’m wearing or wishing to wear… in the meantime why not stop by my blog post about how I returned to fitness after a brief 15 years away.
